Every hour, mines and other explosive remnants of war claim a new victim somewhere in the world. These weapons do not differentiate between military personnel and civilians. In fact, 87% of the victims are civilians, of which almost 50% are children. In 2017, over 7 200 casualties caused by mines and other explosive remnants of war were recorded worldwide.
